I am just curious how this game maintains a user rating of 7.49? The majority of the posts are anti funcom and how the game sucks. Heck i even bought the game and quit after the first day of playing. The game is obviously a epic failure, so how does the rating stay so high?

Seems like someone is getting paid if you know what i mean. /discuss

WAR's Hype is only 7.39. Ratings on this site mean nothing, because there's plenty o' unseen trolls putting 1's.

I think there's people that like AoC but are silent. Amazing, but they must be out there...

The perfect scores in graphics and sound plays a big role I'm sure.  Even I rated those pretty high- as they deserve to be.

wierd that you mention the graphics.....everyone seems to rave about them.....

   With all there is to hate about AoC, seems like the graphics are the games' shining star. Am I the only one who found the world excrutiatingly bland and drab? Yeah the water looks great but...jesus man...can we get a little less brown and grey in that PoS?

    A minor complaint I know , when held up against the rest of the epic fail that is AoC...but the graphics didnt blow me away. I would have rather been able to run at more than 30 fps on the system I built specifically to play that trash. Oh well...I guess I will put it to use when i have all the sliders in War to the right.

Probably because like most games people want to be 'first'.

People vote on games they have only barely played (and in some cases not played at all).

Fanbois also rush to bump up the rating to 'prove' that the game is good.

IMHO any rating / score from any game should be reset after the first month.

That gets rid of all the reviews by Reviewers and Fanbois who did not play the game and give it time for the novelty to wear off.

Well as one of the "haters" I divided the points fairly with pretty high on graphics and such, but after seeing many give full 10's I changed mine to just 1's. Not the correct way, but the game has too high grade atm which could mean it fools people into buying it so feels like we should really lower it down.

.. and this is exactly why the rating system on this site doesn't mean a hill of beans.

The only way for it to work is to give an honest rated opinion. The "haters" tend to give the game all 1s now, but then claim it's because it offers nothing that other MMOs don't have. So, do you give other MMOs you play all 1s as well?

Just because you don't enjoy the game doesn't mean you have to give all 1s. Just like if you do enjoy the game, you shouldn't give it all 10s.

I would say the number is about where it should be when comparing it to other games on this site. It seems that 7 is the new "average" game. The only score I would change is the Role-Playing score. It should be about 6.2. Simply because the RP changes direction completely after Tortage which was one of the major reasons why I left. WIth nothing else but an everage MMO to fall back on after Tortage, I decided I could play other average MMOs elsewhere.

I dont know how the rating system works on this site, but either they should remove all but one of the categories or just add an "Overall" which is the one it ranks the game after. If a game has great graphics, but stinks big time on fun factor it shouldnt get any higher grade cause the graphics.

Ratings doesnt say anything. wow has 8.6 in graphics? Yes of course, lol
