General Discussion

Just found out that this was a technique that has been used.  It should be obvious how or why I found out about it.  It seemed like a hot topic on the news yesterday.  I don't wanna turn this into a political debate.  That is why I am not mentioning how I found out.

Basically the doctor induces labor early and the woman gives birth to a living being.  The kid can live for a small amount of time after the birth.  Like 30 - 40 minutes I guess.  From what I gather they do not even attempt to help these kids live.  They just let them die.    Why do these humans no longer fetus's not have the same rights as any other human.  They are no longer a part of the mother, they are an individual. 

Thoughts?

Dunno.  what I saw on it didn't really specify why.  Child to far along I assume but I am unsure.  Just that in one case a child was aborted in this manner once born it lived for 45 minutes or so unhelped to just die.

Of all places at a christian hosptial (not a specific name), I forget the name just had a huge as cross on top of the building. So I assume it is one of those religious hospitals.

Edit: I guess the kids are suppose to be protected now (Still alittle fuzzy on the whole thing after all I only became aware of it yeasterday).  It still leaves the question why is the staff still working I assume. After all a doctor went to prison for assisting the elderly commit a wanted suicide. So why were these guys not treated the same way.

and lets not forget about partial birth abortions. or is that the same thing? no, thats when they stick the babies head with a screwdriver to kill it.

my body is my temple, the womans movement claims.

i can live with abortions under the first trimester. 3 or even 2 months is enough time to decide if you want to keep your baby or not.

This is the same thing. All those babies could live under partial birth if they were given life support. They are basically premies in all other technicalities. It is murder, plain and simple.

I guess now the doctors and mother are just seeing if it will survuive on its own rather than sticking the pick into the kid's brain. I suppose this way they feel better about themselves.

LoL, its not a loaded topic or anything.  I am not trying to bait.  I did point out the irony of the big bloody cross on top of the hospital.   But it wasn't really ment as a shot at religion.

 If I wanted to really stir the pot I would have posted the video.  Still tempted too.  But I really can't since I said I wasn't trying to turn it political.   If I knew of just the snipet of the portion thats not political and described the pratice I would post it.  Now if someone else finds the video I can't stop them from posting it.    Then the chances of it being locked are 50/50.   Not like it would be hard to find anyways.  Not a bunch of what I would call main stream media outlets out there.

I was honestly shocked that a child would be aborted in this fashion.   The instance with the hospital the kid was left in a laundry room alive.  I guess a staff member found it and cradled it 45 minutes or so till it died.   She's testified under oath supposedly and I guess in front of congress to get a bill passed or something, has gone unchallanged till recently when she decieded to use this to slam somebody.

But I didn't bring it up to slam the somebody.   It just baffled me how this hospital got away with such a practice. 

Man has no real "natural right" to life, though we try our best to guarantee it to everyone.

Its just nature taking its course if you ask me.

So then I'm assuming that noone knew this hospital was doing these things, if it took a staff member to bring it out in the open? Because as far as I know in the U.S. abortion after the second trimester is illegal in any case.
