True, I don't think it was ever publicized as an exclusive access to the game. But, it was certainly publicized as a guaranteed access and there was plenty of chances for GOA to include the pre-order people into the beta program earlier.

There was no need for them to wait until the last week before the game went live to provide the access that they promised and on top of that there was no need to include lots of free invitations into the mix without even a glimmer of understanding of the load and delay that this would put onto the system.

Basically, they have compounded being indifferent to people that support them with just plain being stupid.

Alienating and angering people that have been patient and willing to support you is simply stupid no matter the reasons or excuses.

You guys still get your head start dont you?

Who cares if everyone can preview the game, everythings getting wiped anyway.

The level of "Waah waaaah, I'm going to throw my toys out of the pram" in these threads is awesome.

Seriously people...you and 500,000 other people are all trying to do the same thing...at the same time.

Could Mythic/EA/GOA have planned better?  Sure
Could the accounts emails and patcher have been handled better?  Yup
Does the WAR community, bent on hard core PVP with big bad burly folks in lots of spikey armor sound like a bunch of spoiled 2 year olds throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of the Grocery Store?  Definately

Honestly what would be a better way to find out how launch loads are going to be? Most games do allow patching and D'ling ahead of the mass loads of OB. Yet most games also tank on opening day because they don't test system flooding before hand.

At the end of the day the Europeans have been screwed by GOA, they have been a joke from the get go, I couldn't care less about OB (although I do have the code) as I have way much better stuff to do tbh and I have been in CB too so I have had my taste for the game, but the way GOA has handeled themselves makes me worry as to what the the release will be like for us Euro's, I mean do I get the NA version and take the chance at lag etc or do I take the chance with...... *shudder*..GOA?

The OP is being a bit emo but his post does have a point and he has every right of expressing it.

The less people like this the game has the better.

Honestly, when you preorder a wildly popular title, expect there to be delays of some sort, learn to deal with your decisions, dont cry and stomp your feet demanding it.

Also if you read anything about mythics decision to not have an official forum untill release you would know exactly why they did it.
 

To go an insult someone that is frustrated in being able to get in doesn't help much. But, yes a bit of patience is always welcome and never hurts. But then again it doesn't hurt if a company knowing the attitude of its customers takes this into account with their planning to avoid frustrating their customers needlessly.

Yes, I read their excuses for not having a company run forum but that is all it is. As long as they are going to depend on feed back from fansites they can always pretend that everyone is happy and everything is fine.

It is simply a bad business decision. One factor in handling customer complaints (especially ones that are either invalid or can't be fixed) is to allow the customer an opportunity to vent their feelings and to be heard. If the customer at least feels that they have the chance to provide feedback it relieves frustration even if the company is totally ignoring that feedback. To fail to provide a channel for customer feedback is sign that the people in charge of running the game (not designing, developing or programming it) is simply out of touch.

Mythic did promise to treat us the same, I dont want to be used as an EU test server.

Yeah - it was a horrible plan to let everybody download 9.34GB of data early so they wouldn't have to try to patch that on the day Open Beta launched...

1)  It's beta - for all you know, they're testing the limits of their patch server, bandwidth, etc...

2)  You only have to patch 189MB - be grateful

3)  The more people that have the game patched as fully as possible prior to the go live launch, the fewer that will need to patch the day of go live launch, thereby helping to ensure that the launch goes a little smoother than it would.
