With the promise of stunning visuals and aerial combat, Aion has been near the top of the list for most anticipated MMORPGs since the game was announced. Now that they're farther along in the games development, NCsoft has been able to publish several pieces of concept art, showing the game's artistic direction for some of Aion's regions and races.

Kinda slow on the uptake, aren't you guys? This art's been available for a few days over on well-known fansites. ;)

But anyhow, here's my canned response: Aion rocks, these artworks are awesome. :)

really looking forward to aion, and totally dont see the point of knocking mmorpg for the article, its a blessed relief from the continual aoc coverage.

people need to remember its much much to easy to dis a product on 5 seconds than it takes to make a good game. i hate snap judgement forum posts, they doom so many promising product before they get a chance.

I know exactly what you mean, Extra. Always the same thing, too: "looks like a grinder". Seriously, people are so lazy nowadays. Won't even do some research. :(

Make a WORLD,
Not a Game.

wow they've got some very talented fantasy/sci-fi artists,  On the aion site itself the mushroom city pic is fabulous.  They should sell poster prints.  Hope they can convey that atmosphere into the actual game.

You know eye candy is nice, it provides a feeling of what the game will be like visually, but when you get down to it, gameplay and content determine whether anyone buys it or plays it for long.

As much as I look forward to this game, I also have to look at NCsoft's penchant for lots of grinding.  Hopefully this will not be the case.

It's character development is again a restrictive class design, hence putting it in the Wow clone category.

I am getting pretty tired of them.

They already introduced a system to develope your uniqueness skills wise, its called stigma, and its about getting stones you can use in order to get skills from other classes, added to the fact that they have only 8 classes with different playstyles (for example, as a gladiator you can go pure DPS with dual swords, or pole for AOE, and tanks can use two handed swords for a semi DPS setup and shield+blunt for a tank setup) I think the linear feeling in character's customization is somehow less intense.

Also, about wow clone, the endgame system differs a lot from WoW's, just the fact that the game pvp and raids are done in open world, thus requiring high levels of competition, pretty much points out that Aion might only resemble WoW in terms of leveling curve and as a story based game.

Amen! Totally annoying.

Anyway, I'm looking very forward to Aion!
