Blizzard has released the opening cinematic for Wrath of the Lich King, the much anticipated expansion to World of Warcraft. The video continues Blizzard's tradition of stunning visual sequences and depicts Arthas, the Lich King himself, preparing his forces for the dark and frigid days to come.

- CG doesn't belong in representing games. This is just shows how boring and unreliable the game will become.

- They'd better invested the money into something else, it doesn't really make the game any better. The cinematic looks very nice, the game however really starts looking like old crap.

- I hate it when game companies put out these great video's for games when the gameplay is nothing like it at all. Anyway, when is the WoW movie coming out? Or did that get x'd?

- Yes a nice video.Blizzard does have a very good studio to work with.Too bad they spend so much time delivering quality movies and don't deliver in game.This movie is a nice touch that fits the modern era,there in game belongs with graphics in the 1990's.

- Pretty as always. Blizzard should really go into making cgi movies. Like.. I would totally watch if they made a WoW movie, or even a WoW movie series, Depicting all the WoW lore. :D That would be shweet.

- Ah crap, why does Blizzard always make such insane great cinematics? they should be making movies!!! i want them to make a movie about Warcraft or Diablo already it would sell... A LOT.

- Oh and watch the damn trailer on the offical WoW site, the sound dying is related to mmorpg.com. Those who don't understand the lore will not get this intro. Its deeper than anything they have made thus far.

- Nice video only one thing - isn't this supposed to be about the PLAYERS? Not Metzen and his changable storylines. I'd rather see a cinematic with players, but it won't be the 1st time Blizzard has forgotten about them

- Yep it is indeed a fantastic intro. Shame the game isnt anywhere near as cool but oh well....and yeah the sound is messed up over halfway through

- I think the video is nicely done. Arthas needs to be portrayed as quiet, brooding, ominous, and powerful. I hope the WoW movie, if it ever gets made, will be done in this style of CGI. That said, however, I can't say I have nay interest whatsoever in purchasing WotLK. I'm pretty much WoW-ed out, these days. :)

- Long time follower of WoW, this video is underwhelming. Arthas is an awesome character but showing Illidan for a few seconds was a lot better than this.

- I agree with Maldach and a bunch of other people (credit will be given later) I noticed from myself that where before I used to praise Blizzard, I now talk about it like all those companies that make the same grinder games over and over again... because that is what Blizzard is doing!

- Blizzard have become bloated and lazy. Their once-great cinematics are now boring and cliche. Their reign is at an end. What was once a company of innovation is now stuck on the treadmill selling only what worked in the past.

- I love to see all the negative comments. Means less latency for me when WOTLK comes out. It is pretty sad that some QA department didn't take the time to make sure the video was solid. :(

- Yeah the sound does go about half way though..then comes back for like a nano second at the very end...lol And no...its not all that great really is it..!? It is as you say..boring, not the usual splendour that blizzard produce
