    • I am currently playing the 7 Day trial. I originally had only planned to play TR while I was waiting for the retail version of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes to arrive from an eBay purchase. I picked up TR while I was waiting and am currently so taken with it that I have chosen to stick with TR over Vanguard. It isn't that I had low expectations at all. In fact I originally planned to play TR from the beginning but the press was so bad that I went with LOTRO instead. I am so happy that I finally gave this game a try. I am absolutely taken with it. For being an FPS there really is a lot of RPG content. More than WOW in my opinion, equal to that of Guild Wars, but not quite as RP heavy as LOTRO. In my opinion this game is just like any major fantasy themed MMORPG. The UI and interaction with the game is a tad different from the run of the mill MMO but other than that, I just don't know why this is called an MMO-FPS. I don't see anything ground breaking enough to set it appart from the MMORPG category. I think it is more of a marketing scheme than anything else. The community is absolutely amazing. Full of helpful people, tons of people to quest with, and the customer service is quick and friendly. The game clearly has some bugs that need to be worked out, but nothing that gets in the way of gameplay. I've gotten stuck in the environment twice but GM's were able to fish me out within five minutes. I haven't come across any bugged quests *cough Vanguard cough* although I have had one problem with my footlocker (storage) not showing all of my items. This was a quick fix however and not so much a bug as an unnecessary evil that should soon be ratified (problem was fixed by switching between public instances; from Wilderness 2 to Wilderness 3). There have been a lot of rumors lately that TR is on the brink of going under and that NCSoft is going to cut TR. One thing that new players need to keep in mind is that this game took six years to make, cost over 106 million dollars to finance, and is the creation of Richard Garriot who currently is so rich that he was able to secure a flight into space just to promote this game. Needless to say, regardless of the company behind the game, Richard Garriot will always be behind the scenes and is highly unlikely to let this die. Just look at Ultima Online for heavens sake. I do not think that Tabula Rasa would only appeal to niche gamers. If you enjoy the gameplay of WOW or LOTRO or Guild Wars and enjoyed the environment, story, and/or gameplay of games like Halo, Star Wars KOTOR, and/or Mass Effect, then you simply cannot go wrong with giving Tabula Rasa a try ^_^

    • Lacks end game. Once you get to level 50, there is not much you can at the moment. But game is really fun especially first 30 levels. Also cloning system is a great feature.

    • I'm playing the 7-day trial and am enjoying it quite a bit. Good graphics. Good gameplay. Exciting like a FPS. Generally seems well done. I guess it just needed more time to mature.
