I came back for the free 30. It's enjoyable again, not amazing, but enjoyable. Many of the old flaws, many of the old funs. Some new content worth trying. Dev team seems to care. Has potential again, not pre-nge potential, but worth some time for a fan. |

Unfortunately I don't think you will find many happy campers here. Except people are waiting for SW:TOR

I want to say something positive as i am one that enjoys the game ,but unfortunately when you say you like something about SWG on this forum you get flamed from here to eternity for everything from betraying the vets crowd to being a sellout and paying an "evil" entity. Anyhow i'm glad you find it fun. I know I do and with the present weaponsmith revamp i have spent way more time then I should be playing this game just crafting and trying to make uber weapons. My combatant is almost all decked out finally and enjoying that part of the game as well. I even started my own "player city" with a friend. Our goal is not to become massive but to become a place where people can get their buffs etc away from mos eisley. Its quite fun and it seems our services are appreciated lol

The game is still rusted and broken at the core, it's never going to recover from that. It will cease to pollute the internet as soon as KOTOR goes live. And the rabid fanbois will be annoying all of us over on the KOTOR forums instead of sitting here and lying to the world in defense of Star Wars Galaxies. |

I played from March 07 to around March 08 The enjoyability factor depends on what update gets put in. Its definitely not amazing but can be enjoyable in places and at certain times.
Can't really say about the old flaws but every update that came in while i was there certainly added new ones and new bugs.
New content always seems good unfortunately its always done so badly. All forced grouping, permanent grinding and extra bugs. An d most of it ripped off from other mmo's
The dev team certainly cares about making from money, pity they don't seem to care as much about making a decent product if they did it wouldn't be in the state its in.
Definitely has potential but i'd say it's wasted potential:(
As for people flaming anyone that has anything good to say about swg. It's probably down to SOE trying to p*** off as many people as they possibly can

On the plus side, I didn't have to find the cancel button when my 30+ days were up.... |

SWG is currently in a state of limbo. It's dwindling population is too small for the Dev team to rack up the funds to make another expansion and/or make drastic improvements to the game (eg. of a drastic improvement would be like the new graphics engine rehaul happening in Anarchy Online). But the population is also too large for the game to completely fall through, essentially what is happening is there is small boosts of content (mainly in annoying raids) but the game won't get a surge of life. |

Along with the X-Wing series Jump to Lightspeed is the best Star Wars space simulator. As soon as the NGE Rolled in I pretty much abandoned the ground game and played A LOT of space. It's a shame that they rarely add to space... the lack of Dev interest in space was pretty much the reason I left SWG. Tie Advanced FTW! |
