Text chatting is so 1990's. Its all about voice chat now. There is plenty of communication that goes on in every battle, but you probably wont see it if you are not in an organized guild. People who want to work together are in guilds, and if they are in guilds, they do voice chat. Its time people move out of the stone age.

That's the most absurd statement I've ever seen. Most of us do not use voice comm in battles, and most of us at this point are not in guilds that are simply exploring the game. The excuse that you have to be in a guild to enjoy this game gives even more disappointment.

I don't see people using any different tactics in this game than they would in a game like WoW, and to be honest I don't see the need to. Which is very disappointing for me.

I'm curious what particular tactics you were envisioning exactly, that aren't being used. I'm seen a wide variety of tactics throughout both scenerios and open rvr. Of course due to the point above, solo'ers probably will never know about it, because they are out of the communication loop.

      Such as...?

Of course its going to feel like WoW, if you only do what is in WoW.   Have you even looked at a fortress?

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. I experienced the T2 RvR areas, and they weren't very appealing. I found little action and few players of opposing factions. I have defended and attacked a keep, and that's pretty much the same; I see very few players of the opposing sides. I'm not going to play through the entire game if it's the same at end-game, as that is what it sets itself off to be. I'd rather not resubscribe / do the scenario grind if at end-game it's simply doing the scenario grind again. Like I said though, I'm willing to resubscribe if the players actually end up doing RvR instead of go the WoW route and just grind scenarios all the time. I don't see what's wrong with that thinking.

EDIT: What I'm confused with is people's arguements that the OPs opinion is obsolete because he didn't experience the entire game. In all honesty, have you? Do you know how good end-game PvP is going to be? Have you ever taken a main capital? The only thing I can judge by is from other player's experiences who have so far rarely taken place (only one has taken place, and it isn't good news), and from what we see early in the beginning, which isn't too promising either.

It was a blast, particularly the 'world pvp', I was doing exceptionally well because I am by nature a very competitive gamer and in one scenario was miles ahead of anyone else in terms of damage/kills. Which made me log off that day very satisifed because I love to be on top.

Anyway the point is I've tried to log in today and yesterday, looked around for about 5mins and just logged off again. I just cant bring myself to play it for some reason. It's almost like I've experienced all the game has to offer and I just don't care anymore.

It's like I know how the game will pan out, sort of when you go through halfway of a SP game and just stop playing because you know the rest will be all the same. I remember moment of intense, exhilerating pvp in WoW in the good ole days, and the pvp in this game reminds me of that and even a little bit more... but to what end? Suddenly it all feels pointless.

How can it be that people need to play for 14 days to come to this conclusion?

I guess age and experience do matter. I would have bet 7 days and getting bored was the max for War.

But apparently people are so desperate to like something new, they don't see behind the emptiness of bashing heads.

      Yeeeeaah...

Some of us get bored of games quickly and don't particularly like wasting are time until we get to end-game just to see if we will like it or not, because chances are, if you don't like it now you will never like it. It's a video game. Why am I going to play it if I'm not enjoying it? I'll just play another one to be quite honest.

To the OP: I do understand alot of what you are saying. My first experiences were of great fun; I had a blast playing from a DoK, to a WP, then finally getting a magus to T2. But it became very boring very quick and I really doubt that things are going to be getting too much more interesting.

I think one of the biggest problems this game has is that it's advertisement is on huge PvP conflict while the PvP is at par and stale at best, decent fun but nothing ground-breaking or amazing (saying this with all honesty and from my own perspective). I don't see much that this game has to offer to take away WoW players, to be perfectly frank. It has similar PvP but if you are looking for better polish, PvE, raids, story, balance, and basically anything else you can list in an MMO, WoW can do it better. And the only reason I compare this game so greatly to WoW is because of how much this game has been trying to offer itself as the WoW2; it just doesn't cut it in my opinion.

Maybe WOW does PVE better to an extent but what does WOTLK really bring new to PVE? Nothing its more grind for gear so you can do the next thing for more gear. PVP yeah ok the same BG's forever and leveling another 10 levels doing PVE quests oh never done that before in an MMO.

Dont come here trying to say WOW has what WAR is missing it has the same stuff but only 1 way to level. I enjoyed WOW myself for 3 years but it really is old hat to most players. Dont think its a bad game at all and was my favorite for a long time but after WAR's multiple ways to level I dont see myself ever playing a game like that again.

Actually I think I am just tired of leveling toons in general maybe I need to go back to FPS games. Maybe I just lost interest in MMO's as leveling characters is why I think I lose my fun factor over time.

I think we're thinking the same thing, at least for that last statement. As it is the PvP is exactly the same as the repetitive BGs in WoW, as the scenarios is the BGs mirror. I barely ever see anyone in the open world pvp areas fighting eachother in big battles, like it was described. It might be different once everyone is at end-game, and more people are doing end-game RvR and attacking eachother's main capitals, but as it is I'm simply not seeing anything amazing. I'm probably going to end up not resubscribing once my free month goes out, and possibly resubscribe in a couple months once the end-game RvR is panned out and we have a better idea of how much RvR really will be apart of the game (considering as far as I know, RvR is about all this game has going for it).

The thing I'm finding wrong with game is that it is way too similar to WoW. People keep saying that WAR requires so much more tactics and teamwork then WoW does but all I've found is the exact opposite. Nobody even uses the chat system because everyone knows they can just charge in and find the weakest looking character (which, in this game, was made easier for you to find from their outfits).
