The important stuff has already been said in the title. We don't have a website, as from experience they are pretty useless, the same for forums. We communicate by actually talking to each other on Ventrilo (gasp) and have members from South Africa, New Zealand, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany, and of course, the UK. I am probably missing some countries there, but who cares...
We have been very active doing Keep raids, PQ's and other random stuff, such as laying siege to a rather stupidly placed Greenskin camp in the Badlands. But then Greenskins never did have much in the way of brainpower...
This is probably the worst guild advertisement ever, although that is probably more a reflection of my innate cynicism as to saying anything definitive about the guild itself.
If interested, just give us a yell in the game, you will usually find a few members around Avelorn, Badlands, or one of the other T3 keeps. If you haven't then shame on you; you obviously do not play enough :-P
Failing that, give Painholder, Tugboat, Azoka, Warbreaker, Jaeden (myself), Merciful or that other dude an in-game yell.
Look forward to seeing you...
Admittedly, I haven't played this game since the Beta ended, but I found it to be very interesting and well conceived, and even got my cousins children to play it before it went gold.
It's a good quality product, and makes me wonder what else KingsIsle have up their sleeves. I know for certain that there is another project in development, but just what?
"Performance" is the most disappointing aspect. The game should run well even on the minimum specs, and not be an unmitigated lag fest.
I have only played on openRvR servers. The whole ganking thing is a non-issue. It doesn't happen a great deal, and adds that element of risk during your normal game-play. Due to playing on the European servers, I have moved to a different server and started fresh as my original server lost all of it's players. There are lot's more people around now.
So far I haven't had any huge issues other than general low performance of the client.
Although the new version has been patched to our servers, there are some quite obvious issues that we will be working on over the next couple of weeks, hence the lack of an official announcement regarding this update.
Despite an extensive beta testing phase, this is an unfortunate consequence of our limited budget and development team. We simply do not have the resources, hardware, or budget to be able to test this version fully before publishing it to the live servers.
As soon as we are happy with this release, we will make an official announcement.
Until then, please enjoy our efforts, and feel welcome to post your feedback either here, or in the Official DarkSpace forums.
You can also download the latest version from our Downloads Page, where we have a number of verified mirrors that may offer faster download speeds than the torrent listed above.
Read the Development Log for a list of some of the changes to date.
We wish to thank you all for your time and forbearance while we iron out the remaining issues, and for supporting DarkSpace through the years.
Infinity has just begun...
Well, maybe in Two Weeks™.
Kindest Regards,
- The DarkSpace Development Team
