• • What's your take on naming Characters in an MMORPG?

  • If it's not offensive or on a roleplay server then go with whatever you want. I reserve the right to think of l33t speakers as complete tools though.

    WAR is here and it is not perfect but to say this game is the worst game ever for almost no reason at all is sad when you could really be truthful and tell us your worst game.

    Just because someone's opinion differs from yours doesn't mean they are a troll. That is something few people on this forum seem to understand. And they have as much a right to post their dislike for the game as you do to post how much you love it.

    I think most people are tired of hearing the same 5 whiners repeat themselves like a broken record instead of saying their peice and moving on.  Or better yet tired of said whiners / criers crapping on the game because its not WoW, DAoC, or UO.  Its like they never even once took a realistic look at the game design information that was available for months.  The best ones are those that cry over X subject despite its either Being addressed, has been fixed, or its doesn't fit with the design so we'll never see it anyway. 
    It'd be nice if said whiners instead of crying were just constructive and realistic in what they think would be a better solution to X issue.  But this is MMORPG.com so its highly unlikely good conversations will happen about WAR here for a while.

    Same could be said about people being tired of hearing the same 5 fanbois spouting how this is the greatest game since sliced bread. The road goes both ways, but seeing one direction and saying the other is wrong is just as bad.

    I don't really like either type, but this IS a Warhammer forum. If there is any place for someone to talk about the game or how much they like it, it would be here. I wouldn't consider that trolling. Repeatedly stating how much and why you hate WAR in a WAR forum is trolling though. The fact that you haters continue to hang out here just to flame the game, its fans and to try and piss fanbois off, is by definition trolling. Why MMORPG.com doesn't do a damn thing about it is the real problem. I've played lots of MMOs and have been on this site for a while and every game forum is always filled with hateful trolls. I blame the moderators for not maintaining a decent site. This place is the anus of the MMO community.

    Quit defending the game like somebody insulted your mom. If you don't like to read the bad posts then don't. FOr crying out loud it's a public forum and just because it's a WAR forum doesn't mean that it's just a place to discuss WAR in possitive ways, it just means that the topic of discussion is WAR and since a lot of the people who have played WAR are dissapointed in it, you are going to see a lot of people saying bad things about it.

    If you want to argue for WAR then by all means do so, but don't argue against people's right to express their feelings. Don't take it personally and don't get upset when people don't see things your way. It's just a game.

    I'm not defending the game. I said nothing for or against it. I'm defending the idea of having a forum free from people who have no other purpose than bashing the game and those who enjoy it. Free from having every single thread degenerate into a "this game sucks"/"no it doesn't" pointless argument. It has nothing to do with Warhammer. This has happened on this site with every single game in my played list.

    I don't want to argue for WAR. I want to be able to come here and find something useful. Not another identical thread with a different title. You trolls and haters totally ruin any chance of these forums being used for anything other than flame wars. If  you don't like the damn game, then move the hell on.

    Spot on. This thread represents about 90% of the content on MMORPG.com's forums. Useless biased opinion packaged in flames for our collective hobby. Makes you wonder why most of these people even bother to play games at all.

  • For many here, there is only hate and derision. Don't pay any attention to them. No matter what game you play, find enjoyment in it. If you like Maple Story, Eve or Zork, be assured there is some asshole out there who would like nothing better than to vent their joyless worthless opinion all over your gaming happiness. Don't try to reason or argue with them, they're perfectly correct in their mind and any disagreement from you only proves how clueless you are. They exsist outside the realm of gaming enjoyment. They are the grunting little trolls underneath your bridge to fun.
