Put it like this: Guild Wars 2 is being created now and, as far as I know, the same balancer that works on GW2 is "balancing" GW. And if that's the case then there won't be no balance in GW.
You mean there won't be balance in GW2?
There's no way we can judge that fact now. ArenaNet have said that Guild Wars 2 will have different and fewer skills, allowing them to balance the game better. Without knowing vital elements of the game (such as the fact that they could increase character health by a factor of 10 to put it around 4000, but also increase all damages - essentially creating a more "accurate" damage system) and what skills are present we simply can't say.
Also, I doubt a single person has sole control over the balance of the game. There is a group of in-house playtesters who test out changes before they go live to see if they're overpowered etc.

Here is why Guild Wars died for me. They announced Guild Wars 2. My heart heart just wasn't in it anymore. Yeah there are titles but it's jut to get an item or something in GW2 and that's not enough for me to grind them to the max.
They never should have announced Guild Wars 2 so early since it still seems so far off. Don't get me wrong I can't wait for Guild Wars 2! I think it will be amazing according to what the team did with Guild Wars. But yeah now I just want to play that and not Guild Wars.
That's so true. It's like I have an urge to create a new character, but then think "what's the point?" I'm only title collecting on one character. They could at least release more information about Guild Wars 2 to increase the hype a bit.
Still playing Guild Wars. Nothing else seems able to grasp my attention.

Call me crazy, but I really, really like the art direction here.
So do I. It's very different, yet strangely appealing.
Most likely not, but it would be nice if they did. I'd love it if they took a different direction to WoW - by that I mean create a sandbox MMO. That way they'll be catering to two completely different markets - the linear fantasy market and the sandbox sci-fi market.
(I'm not saying all fantasy games are linear and all sci-fi games are sandbox in case anyone is wondering)
