  • This whole point is a great example of one major reason I plan to stay far away from WoWhammer.

    I make it a lifes goal to stay away from the WoW majority.

    No offense to many good people who also play WoW, and to the mature young people out there

  • Try the freedom server, or justice, I forget the other, but freedom was always a well populated server.

    I played CoH on and off since launch. It's lots of fun. I just wish there was a PVP server as PVP is restricted to 3 or so controlled zones.

    As for simple, at high level the game gets more complicated. Powers selection and usage also is more complicated. Especially with the invention system.

    I am also a SWG vet from launch. I left when NGE hit disgusted at what they did. Recently went back last month to try free vet month. I was shocked I had fun. I am now resubbd. NGE is greatly improved. The game is very playable for me again. The old target system is back, terminal missions, treasure maps, expertise gives variation to classes, beast master is back even..

    Enjoy CoH it is a very solid game. Powers are tons of fun, and although there is no shield power there is martial arts, and super speed. So atleast you can be a unarmed Capt America type. Capt was always a badass martial artist even without his shield. His shield was just a bonus.

    Also keep an eye on Cryptics new Hero MMO Champions online. The powers are said to be totally customizable. Even custom Archvillian you can make as your very own Archenemy.

    I'd be curious to know if Blixtev is speculating like everyone else or does he have some inside information? What I mean to say is he only commenting on his interperatation of the interview with the EA president or does he infact have more information?

    I for one cannot imagine a developer making a game that is not an MMO anymore, or at least one that does not use a business model of continued payment over time. Anything less then a real MMO seems like it's going to be a step backwards and a let down for a whole lot of people. I really feel that a SW game (particularily one using the PC as a platform) needs to be an MMO to reach the massive audience developers are looking to.

    But regarding the videos I have to admit they do look impressive, but I certainly agree with pdxgeek in that they look like cutscenes rather then actual gameplay. It looks like they showed you just enough to imply things that may not even be up to people's expectations.

    We'll just have to wait and see, but experience has taught me not to get overly excited.

    Well, you have to consider that LucasArts is contractually obligated to SOE as much as SOE is to LA. So LA would more than likely have to disclose whether any new Star Wars mmos are indeed coming out. So it is indeed possible for Blixtev to have that info.
     

    
     

    This speculation might just be accurate. Sounds lots like Fable 2. You can bring people into your own personal world. You have a huge effect on your own world this way as everyones world is unique.

    Whatever bioware is doing I feel The Old Republic is going to rock.

    BTW they NEVER promoted 3 vs 3 , i follow this game since a year and a half and it was always ORDER VS DESTRUCTION .

    
     

    This is where WowHammer looses me.

    WARHAMMER WAS NEVER ABOUT A SIMPLE GOOD VS EVIL. It was each side being it's own. Undead many times was against goblins, high elves vs dwarves. This Good vs Evil garbage is bleh.

    I truely wanted to like this game as I was a big fan of the old tabletop Warhammer.

    Cartoony overhyped WoWhammer. I make it a lifes goal to stay far away from the WoW kiddies.

  • For that comment about creature handler revampd then removed.
    Creature handler is a expertise in game now. You need to focus alot of expertise points to make it strong, as it makes creature handler almost a full profession of it's own you can mix with any other.
    All your pre cu pets are worth millions.
    You guys that are still as bitter as day 1 might want to try the game now.
    I was as bitter as all of you, but free vet month last month supprised the hell out of me.
    Get over it. It's been 3 years. If you want pre cu GO PLAY THE EMU. GO HELP THE EMU COMMUNITY WORK ON THE PRE CU INSTEAD OF BITCHING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT HAPPNED 3 YEARS AGO! What do you really expect by complaining 3 years later. EVERYONE GOT OUR MESSAGE. SOE realized they screwed up. Smed is still an arse, but he's not a programmer.
    NGE is MUCH improved. The devs I believe have learned a valuable lesson.
    They are even releasing Hoth now.
    I even needed in game help on a bugged map today. The extract point was just outside the map grid. A gm responded and roughly an hour and replaced the treasure map quickly. Customer service gets a plus from me.
    Really guys, you need to stop whining about what happened 3 years ago. This is borderline needing professional help now. You can't change the past.
    The community on gorath is the best out of any mmo I have recently played. There are no WoW kiddies. Many old timers have been coming back recently. It is soo great playing with people I havn't seen since I left when NGE first hit.
    If you still don't like the current gamestate after trying it, don't play it. SWG has never been replaced by ANY MMO for me, and I am glad to be back in the game I most enjoy.
    Eventhough my Elder Jedi is no alpha class anymore, I am over this. I can still hold my own in PVP.
    Please don't take this as a NGE fanboi, because I also was diqusted at NGE when it hit. I am only saying move on. NOTHING productive is coming of this now. <Mod edit>
