Still, she can't just put her credibility at stake. She has quite an audience - of which a good part is Darkfall followers - and being a part of a hoax could not be good for her own career as a cartoonist.
IMO this is another proof, that we are not dealing with vaporware.
I put her credibility above the gaming press actually.
Oh yeah about the getting ganked as a noobie before you even get the chance to do anything, told you so.
Being attacked by a fellow noob, isn't exactly "ganking" is it ? With server purges happening often, I'm guessing that ppl atren't placing too much into alignment either. Perhaps he will get a "I backstabbed Gianna" t-shirt ? ![]()
The journal has it's own forecast and Gank tab ![]()

......Wow, if you believe those quotes weren't biassed then theirs no hope for you. Why can't they let the players post their own reviews on the df forum. It's not like they can say anything they want because Tasos will take it down but no they have to quote player reviews themselves.....thats shady.
Because a gaming experience is a subjective thing, I tend to not put too much value on any testimonial or quote. Aventurine doesn't require me to either. I look for hints of functionality and I will most definitively be looking for them when I test the game for free and thus make up my own mind about the game.

After experiences with other new MMO's, im twice as shy handing over credit card details to companies now. This company really isnt restoring any faith to me so far.
Scary....
Has this company asked you to hand over your credit card details yet ?

I viewed the link the OP posted and all I saw was Tasos talking.
His "player testimonials" reminded me of those lose weight or get rich infomercial testimonials where most of the featured folks are actors reading from a script. I was expecting to see the "Results not typical" disclamer at the bottom. Sadly, there is no way to tell if he wrote them or not, though the writing styles are somewhat consistant throughout.
I know little about Darkfall. I hope it is a good, solid and fun game and I wish its devs and studios the best. If it takes till 2010 to be released, so be it. If it comes out next week, cool. If it is a good game, I will buy it and play it.
But, I refused to be swayed by one guy's posting/bragging about how great the game is and all those "players" who suposedly offered testimonials. Now, if the testimonials were coming from other boards, blogs, etc, and clearly shown to be independent opinion, I would be more inclined to take stock. Likewise, more screens, videos, updated beta stock, beta contests, etc would dispell my skepticism more too. As it is, it seems like self promotion to me, and such is persuading me to take a more negative opinion about a product that is not even released yet.
These are not testimonials used for marketing purposes. If they were, there would probably be a "Pre order here" button close by. These are quotes for the fan community so that they are able to follow the beta process. Nothing more, nothing less.
