I enjoyed reading what you had to say OP, I really felt where you were coming from.
Redcap036, Beatnik59, and Klapdoor among others, thank you for the good reads.
I've been soloing alot in the last 6 months of gaming and it's not because I suck, I'm quite good at what I do. I'm a community type of guy who digs PVP and although I have tough skin and a good sense of humor the ignorance that runs rampant in todays games pisses me off.
Soloing is SO effin boring but it beats having to tolerate the gamers that typically, I would punch in the throat for being so rude.
I've read some of the posts on this thread and I swear I wanted to vomit. How can grown men and women even have these types of opinions.
BTW, any game coming out or has come out will fail and the gaming community will be the reason.

the thing simply is.
People play mmos for fun, not to make friends.
And war is new and people want to learn it and play it. They don't really care about winning or making a community since they JUST started.
Maybe so, but if it goes down the same path as its predecessors, even WoW (with its huge playerbase)...then there's no real future in it for players that prefer that. Look at some threads already in the WAR forums where they it's dead quiet. Not saying it's fact, just saying what's out there.
Some of us find it fun to play as a community...you have your way of playing, and we have ours.
I found AoC like that, and I doubt it had anything to do with its game flaws, those responsible for such bad opinionated threads at any rate.
What Whysperwind said.

What you didnt mention is if Crusader is a single server game (Eve, Guildwars) where all the players can interact, or seperate shards/servers (WOW, AOC, Vanguard, WAR). If you have seperate servers then you face issues if there arent enough people on the server.
Hi Shadowmage,
Crusades will be played on a single shard server.
I hate to say it, but your game wont last then. Go look at other games with separate servers (PVE, PVP, RPPVE, etc) And then look at the population of the PVP servers. These so called PVPers asking for the ultimate FFAPVP game are so full it it's beginning to drive me crazy.
When the going gets tough or there is no one to grief, those PVPers head on over to the PVE servers.
You need to force gamers to have respect for one another. How you do that I have no clue, but in my eyes the only way you can have both types of players in question to gel well would be to force the namecallers and acronym geniuses to understand that you can't have one without the other. Currently they don't understand that. Which is why they don't have a game to call home.

full pvp? Where's that leave us strict pve'ers?
It leaves you with lots of other boring themepark games to play.
You can play against the computer in any single player game. Most of them have a co-operative mode so you can play against the computer with your friends if you want to.
MMO's should allow players to interact with each other realisticly. That means fighting them if the need arises. MMO's should stop catering to "strict PvEers" (eg limiting our freedom) and give us more interesting games to play where we can actually use our brains.......games where our choices actually effect each other rather than being told what to do.
I want to play games with and against people, not dumb mobs with bad AI.
Say NO to carebear PvEers. Say YES to realistic conflict and player interaction!
What?

In a level based game if you skip the leveling you skip the whole game , 1- max level is the game , the main beef of the game , the end game is just that ,the end so skipping to then would be wasting almost the whole game and pretty much spitting in the game makers face . Like saying " I dont want to see the game you spent sooo much time making i just want to get to the end and best loots" .
To me the "getting there" is one of the best parts ,yes i love end game raiding/pvp etc a lot , but i also love the journey and the adventure i prefer skill based sandbox game where there is no true "end game".
There's a problem with the premise that part of the fun is lvl'ing.
Most MMO games entice you to lvl as fast as possible.
Never had I felt this way in a single player console or PC game.
Nicer items, better graphics, more fun mobs, raids, fun events..all of those are usually more present at the higher lvl's. The business model of MMO's is to make you lvl, so you keep paying the bill.
Your argument therefore doesn't make sense in MMO.
So with your logic, you're not playing a game to have fun.
Most MMO's "attempt" to give you an experience, what do you pay $15 months for?
Subject isn't about singleplayer games nor console games.
You don't deserve any of those things if you didn't work for it.
Your argument makes 0 sense to me.
See what I did there?
How did you discover MMORPG.COM?
