    I think u should start with the very first game. It is very heavy on story telling and will introduce you into the game in a steady pace. Or start with the nightfall. Its RPG element is also strong, and you get to play with heroes from the start (I consider heroes to be one of the strongest point of the game). I think u can play nightfall without the original, you just cant get to the content outside the expansion.

    I practicaly never PvP, but if memory serves me right, I didn't lose anything when I died. PvP has a lot of strategic meaning, and less FPS meaning. 

    yes, you can get  a PvP toon that is level 20 right off the bat. But you will have a set of standard skills with it. You need to PvE to unlock many elite skills that you can use. It adds a small token of advantage in your battles. You are still fairly competetive since most of the time its your personal skills and those of your temmates that turn the tide of the battle. I like to watch PvP battles and  often I see an even sided battle turn into a victory by a single clever maneuver of one of the sides.

    I think what OP posted was NEWS. What's happening with FC stock price can be considered news. I mean it has almost hit rock bottom in a couple of months and might affect the future of AoC.

    If we want, we can now discuss about these news. Just like I did earlier speculation whether DX10 will have any affect on the current stock price. YOU on the other hand have brought NOTHING usefull to this thread and you accuse ME of being a troll?

    Like I said before, if you don't like financial discussion, just skip those threads.

    I think you misunderstood what the first reply "and?" was. The way I understand it, there was some data regarding stocks. And we dont understand what it is and what it means. So the follow up question was "and what does that mean? is it bad or good?"

    So, back to OP. Is it good news or bad news? has  it been going down all the time or went up and just recently went down again? I'm no stock broker so those numbers don't really tell me much.

    Still, they could have kicked in that camel they been working on instead, I do remember Conan actually ride those in some novels.

    But a mount and a uber weapon is not the same thing at all so just calm down, particulary when the snow mammoth can be bought in game while the War mammoth can't be.

    Do you actually do anything else here than troll the AoC forum? I did take the liberty to check your posting history and it is kinda scary reading, not much good thing to say about anything.... If you don't like the game just don't play it. Discussing is one thing but this is kinda more like whining about everything. We get that you don't like it, we don't need 300 posts to tell us that.

     

    Why does anything critical has to be trolling? Do you even know what trolling is? The person you accused of trolling posted a valid responce with his/hers opinion on the issue. It was on topic, it wasn't "OMG THIS SUX" type of post. if you disagree someone and call them a troll, that person has the same right to call you the same name for disagreeing.

    Companies "lie" (emblish would be the word they would use but to many people they are lies) all of the time while doing their marketing.It when they cant back it up or the product doesnt have enough other things going for it that its gets them in trouble.

    As far as giving a damn well thats subjective. Yes they ( any business) give a damn because they want your money but that does not mean that they act with your interests in mind or that they do a good job in dealing with customers.

     

    No it doesn't epxplain all the lies and misinformation. I dont know why companies do that? Funcom is not the first nor the last one to "lie". Lies work well for PR and atract new clients, but thats a short term benefit. In the long run it will hit them so bad they may not even recover from it.

    I could never understand the misinformation like "FREE TO PLAY" with big letters and then tiny text at the bottom "for the first week". I mean, wouldn't it be easier to just say "free to try for a week"? Its the same message but without any hidden intentions. Misadvertising like in the first case always leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It just doesn't make sense to do it that way because people get pissed when they dont notice the hiddem text. They think they got cheated. And they would be right!

    I also work for a small company, a telecom company, but I practice honest business. Even when our company screws up, I apologize and offer some kind of resolution, including a some kind of compensation for the screw up. Very often this turns people from angry client to a happy client. But, i guess, this is not how Funcom is doing things.

    I think they do give a damn (they make money of us after all), its just that they don't really have any other option. When company is doing great, it would never risk a hit on their image and blatantly lie (well sure small lies but not huge ones). Huge lies only start when business is not going well, so the company starts wiggling around here and there trying to get back on the road.

    Hats off to IGN for asking some tough questions. The answers were decent too, except for few sneaky dodges like with the number of subs.
