    Speaking in the language of your "ex-girlfriend" metaphor:
    You've met a girl, she was nice, but after a couple of month together you started to realize that she's not up to your taste. Instead of just breaking up and finding another girl you became jealous, started to accuse her in cheating on you and stealing your money (though even she's got her own job, and you don't) and finally cheated on her yourself. She has left you, but once in a while you send to her hate mails saying how much you want her to have a cancer. As well as all her family and friends.

    And then, when her grandpa finally gets a cancer, it's the best day in your pathetic life.

     

    I think a more accurate "ex-girlfriend" metaphor for AoC would be:

    You're out and see this attractive woman at the bar/club/whatever.  You two start chatting, have some drinks, dance, and enjoy each other's company for a few hours.

    Then you get her home and find out that "she" is a pre-op tranny.

  • I hate to quote myself, but not even two weeks ago I said that neither the 360 version or the expansion pack will be released. The only question is which one will be (publicly) canceled first.

    Looks like the 360 port will be the big winner

  • The methodology is garbage, but the guess is probably pretty accurate.  Realistically it's going to be on the lower end of the scale, 100K or less.

    LOL stupid failcom.  LOTD finished their tier 3 city over a month ago.  On the Deathwhisper server.  Yes a full tier 3 city not duped or gm given but player built from the ground up.  Thing is Deathwhisper is a pvp server so when it was completed and announced nobody much cared.  Also, it was assumed at the time it wasn't the first one completed.  (now apparently it was)   Now over a month later some pve noobs complete theirs and claim a world first ROFL.  Its only made funnier by failcom actually posting that crap on their own site and not even knowing their  own game well enough to know the first full tier 3 city was completed over a MONTH ago.  LOL I'm just glad that I canceled my account weeks ago good luck failcom.

    I hardly doubt you ever played the game. Do you have any references for your controversial information. I hardly belive a word of what you say.
    Me too want to hear something on weapons and armors in Tier 3 cities? Anyone have some info on this, please post ?

    To be fair it's not like LOTD had much competition after all 500+ members of Goonheim realized the game was trash and bailed within the first six weeks.

    First of all I have two level 80 characters a demo and a barb.  SO to the dumbass that thinks I never played FU.  Second do a little research what I'm saying is absolutely true.  How do I know you ask?  BECAUSE I PLAYED ON DEATHWHISPER!  The reason I quit is that there is nothing to do at endgame in AOC hence the reason I even made another character.   AOC was a great concept horribly implemented and destined for fail.  Now im hoping Darkfall is the light at the end of the tunnel F war I was in that beta got to level two and never played it again. 
    Also, don't even try to say Goonheim was a force on Deathwhisper they were the biggest noobs ever hunted by the entire server relentlessly.  See a goon kill em, no competition they didn't work together just a big mob of noobs.  They "left" several months after the game started after getting stomped out by the entire server the whole time.  They never even succesfully held the oasis or city in Khesh and that is just pathetic.  The only thing the goons did well is spam the forums with there propaganda and nonsense but anyone who played with them knows goons suck and you don't believe anything they post or say.

    LOL, 90% of goonheim quit within 30 days of launch, before the free month was up, and the rest trickled out over the next two months.  We've had poor schmucks who didn't listen begging for guild invites for weeks on the forum, except there hasn't been anyone in-game to do it.
    And of course we never held anything, we were around long enough to get the first server keep, and then realized that the game is garbage and that we had better stuff to do.  The fact that Goonwhisper spent every waking minute for the first two weeks of the game spazzing out on the forums about us, spamming reports about us in-game, and desperately trying to camp us at every opportunity was the only thing the game had going for it.  Getting yelled at by the GMs for grouping together in order to PvP was particularly entertaining.

    I played on deathwhisper and the goons WHERE WHIPED OFF THE SERVER. The goons had a huge guild full of noobs who did nothing but trash talk all over the deathwhisper forums and about a week in, the server heard enough and declared goonheim KOS. Now Im not saying that they all left because of it because Im sure alot left due to the fact that AoC is trash but I know alot of goonies who left because they were tired of getting ganked everytime they were doing quests. AoC could have been the next big mmo. Too bad Failcom messed it up beyond repair.

    Congrats to Lords of the Dead for the first "real" tier 3 city in AoC.

     

    I'm not going to get into some silly pissing match about server politics in a dead game from four months ago, but trust me, no goons left AoC because the server KOS'd us.  That was kind of the point of trolling the hell out of everyone.

    Everyone left because the game sucks.  It's broken, it's not fun, and the GMs were on our balls non-stop for the most ridiculous stuff, for instance, that link I posted before.  We were threatened with action against the entire guild if we had more than 5 people in a group PvP'ing at any one time.  Why would anyone pay money for that?

    So feel free to believe the goons were "chased out" of AoC instead of having enough common sense to not keep paying a monthly fee for a giant steaming pile.  Whatever helps you sleep at night.
