| Quote | Celebrating my tenth year of online gaming...gawd I need a life...=P |
Well this is kinda a point that has been buggin me as of late. I personally am not a huge fan of PvP or FFAPvP. I was subbed to AoC n would read the forums. I noted often when a PvE player made a comment about the game, often it was replied with ' AoC is for PvP only' or a few times was 'Go back to your PvE server with all the other girls n kiddies.'
I have seen this stated on other forums for other games that are PvP/PvE as well. Often the PvE are reffered to as 'girly or carebares' cause we don't feel like PvP. So I am less of a man cause of this?
I have been shot once, stabbed twice, been in several bar fights, had 11 broken bones, had over 500 stitches and been married for 11 years and have 5 children. But I am less of a man cause I don't PvP in video games?
So because I am not in my moms basement, with a pack of redbull and twinkies, killin somebody else online I am less of a man?
Am I carebare? Do you think I actually give a dam what happens to another character in game? You think I could actually care less about your feelings if I killed someone in game? Frankly on the net I care about nobody, after all, chances are nothing done in a game on the net is really gonna affect my life at all.
Perhaps I don't PvP cause I don't wanna hear some 15 year old punk insulting me n feelin all touph cause he is overweight n sits at home much of the day to be able to move the keys faster. Or spends too much time hunting for the uber gear. Because Mom n Dad pay for his way, n he has no idea how to be a real man. I am sure most of the touph talkers in games would be on their knees crying if you pointed a pop gun at them!
I will pvp if it is part of the game. But if I can get away from it, I most certainly will. Not because I am afraid of hurting someones feelings, nor am I girly. I will stay clear of it simply because of the immature asshats PvP seems to bring to the table. Not all are bad, prolly the few loudmouths destroy the PvP image for the whole.
I hear ya....most of todays MMOs are all about the grind to get to the endgame. Kinda seems to be that you can only have fun once you have spent hours n hours of repetive grind to reach max. Then have fun for a couple months then get bored n move on.

I'd say UO.. but they just need to do UO2 and get it over with.
Give UO some nice updated graphics, not the crap 3d they been tossin at players, n I would be hooked all over again.
I voted violence/death/killing. Simply cause kids see this kinda behavior regularily on tv n such. I teach my kids violence is tolerated only in video games. My son loves the GTA series , but knows behavior such as that in the real world is unacceptable.
However sex is not offencive. But it is something they can easily participate in before they are ready. There is already too many teenage preg kids kickin around these days. Too many single mothers, n kids with no homes. Why the hell would you want to encourage your kid to participate in sex too young?

Because for one I think as a american I speak for all other americans that we are tired of mmorpgs, we want to get on with our lives, when addicting mmorpgs come about and I am sure KOTOR mmorpg will be addicting because the last two kotor games are fantastic, none of us would leave our PCs, especially if Kotor mmo is a sandbox, I am a 22 year old man JUST NOW attending to college because of my hard addiction to EQ and WoW. I finally broke that addiction and now trying to become something of myself
Well I am glad I am Canadian so I don't have ppl like this speaking for me...=P
To the OP, just cause you had no self controle n lost yourself in your games, that is your own problem. Why do you feel the majority of ppl with self controle can't play a KoTOR game n have fun with it? Personally I couldn't care less about your addiction to a video game. As I am sure many others think the same. Your own fault not mine or the game developers.
OH and to help with your WoW addiction...did you know there is an EXPANSION on the way? I really really think being a former WoWer you really really need to play it.![]()
Would you rather see a game release pushed back a year or have the game release witha few bugs that will be fixed?
