Netflix Games Is Getting A New Studio

Netflix Games is set to get some exclusive mobile adventures, with a brand new game studio.

The library of on the go titles that sits suspiciously unnoticed on the Netflix app is about to get bigger. The tech giant has confirmed that it is

The first party outfit has barely been announced by Netflix, but we already know that it will be based out of Helsinki, Finland. The studio head was also announced as Marko Lastikka. Marko is previously a high-profile figure at both EA and Zynga, both of who have extensive influence in the mobile gaming arena.

If you already knew Netflix had a bunch of mobile games, then this might not be a huge surprise. In an effort to move on from Stranger Things spin offs and Asphalt clones, the movie and TV setup bought Next Games lately. We expect this duo of Helsinki game studios to be a serious double barrel shot in the arm to the Netflix Games platform. It follows on from the addition of acclaimed games like Into the Breach and Arcanium: Rise of Arkhan, which practically still has the wrapping on.

Despite our own thoughts, Netflix has confirmed this is just the first shot across the bow of other gaming platforms, so we should expect more soon. Netflix subscribes can access their game library for free in the Netflix app across iOS and Android.
