Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series has already shipped 2 million units according to numbers from Square Enix
The re-digitisation of Final Fantasy seems to have done pretty well on all accounts. After coming to Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation 4® (PS4™), Steam®, iOS and Android devices, the retro take on a classic range of RPGs has cashed in on this legacy. While the numbers from Square Enix might not seem surprising given the 2021 release, this compilation of titles only came to consoles this year, giving them a whole new audience and a renewed interest.
Since then, players at home and away have been able to dabble in Final Fantasy I through Final Fantasy VI, in a familiar format. Each of the Pixel remasters holds true to the original games, with retro aesthetics and familiar tales of heroism. The modern incarnations also include numerous quality of life improvements, and more powerful hardware under the hood, obviously.
If you’re able to drag yourself away from that free copy of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood and have not tried out these titles, then the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series is available now. You can check it out over at the official website and grab it on a whole cluster of platforms.
