Throughline Games has finally announced a release date for the narrative-driven adventure Forgotlings. The game was planned to be released in the summer of 2025, but due to some difficulties, it was postponed until autumn. However, after a long period of silence, the developers have returned with good news. The new game trailer came with a clear release date, set on 17 February.
Forgotlings is a 2D adventure, set in a world where all items have their own souls. Forgotten objects inhabit the entire realm, united in different tribes and groups. The players take the role of Fig, a once-abandoned posing doll. In the magical world, he becomes a captain of the sentient lightship Volare, and begins his world saving journey. The game is the five-year project of indie studio Throughline Games (creators of Forgotton Anne), successfully funded by a Kickstarter campaign.
Key Game Features
- Hand-Animated Cinematic Journey: Thousands of meticulously crafted, frame-by-frame animations and landscapes, which create the feel of a playable animated film.
- Choice-Driven Narrative: Fig’s story and relationships are affected by the player’s choices. Key decisions influence the fate of the world.
- Flexible Tactical Combat: The game offers direct hack-and-slash action or stealthy approaches.
