Yesterday’s New World: Aeternum launch begins something Amazon’s Adventure to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Amazons relaunch and rebrand of New World kicked off yesterday, welcoming console players to the shores of it’s new old RPG. After launching as an MMORPG back in 2021 and brining players to a mysterious island full of danger, The online gaming studio has changed things up added some new features to players looking to take on the untamed power of these angry sands.
So This Isn’t New World?
Now touted as an RPG new World: Aeternum is fundamentally much of the same game. Shipwrecking adventurers on an island where power and corruption threaten the population of this hidden land, players can venture forth and experience a wild journey filled with danger and opportunity. Featuring a vast cinematic storyline and a huge open world, this title brings together cross platform co-op to overcome what awaits. A core questline, crafting, dynamic combat, engaging factions, and an eternal Island full of strange inhabitants sit beneath the sun, while some well received Trials, dungeons, and PvP are all available to dip into if you wish. So far, so much MMO. Right?
While I’m still unconvinced by much fundamentally changing in new World, at least PC players won;’t be negatively impacted. Alongside welcoming console cross play to Aeternum, this launch will swap in New World: Aeternum for anybody who already purchased New World and the Rise of the Angry Earth at no cost. For anybody looking to leap in New World: Aeternum features all major content from New World on PC, including the full base game and the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion, as well as all seasonal content and updates that have been released since New World launched in 2021.
