Jagex has taken to social media to confirm that it is developing a new Runescape Survival game of some sorts.
The UK studio behind Runescape, the iconic MMORPG, has taken to socials with a call for testers, and its unlike anything that Gielinor has seen before. The teams that put together the current version of Runescape and Old School Runescape is looking for testers for a survival game based in the Runescape universe. The title is confirmed as a creation made using Unreal 5 engine and is at least far enough into development that the studio needs individuals for a Closed Alpha.

The posts for this call to action started last night, and don’t give a great deal of information about the upcoming title. It’s the nearest thing to an outright new game in an eternity. We do know that the Alpha will require a PC and will be available in English. The signups will take account of your hardware and require your Steam details. You can sign up here.
Jagex is a renowned British video game developer and publisher best known for creating Runescape. The company was originally founded in 2001 and has since become a prominent player in the gaming industry. Currently, Jagex is owned by CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII and Haveli Investments, after Carlye Group sold it in 2024. Some of the notable games developed by Jagex include RuneScape, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that has garnered a large and dedicated player base over the years. Over 2.4 million active subscribers and one million free-to-play users log into the word of Gielinor, even after all this time. Between Runescape and Old School RuneScape this developer has plenty of lore to mine for the latest adventure. Find out more on official website now.
