World’s Edge and Forgotten Empires has released a new DLC for the legendary strategy game Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. The Viking Sagas expansion adds new lands, three civilizations, and new units and buildings. The DLC also brings 15 new single-player campaign scenarios and dozens of scenario edit assets.
Three New Civilizations
- The Danes: They dominate with stout infantry and powerful siege engines, their centuries of coastal raiding making them swift sailors and expert pillagers. Every destroyed building yields gold and resources.
- The Saxons: Strong fortifications and infantry armies guard their realms. King Alfred the Great’s naval reforms have created a fleet capable of challenging even the Danes at sea. Resilient and adaptive, the Saxons may bend but won’t break.
- The Varangians: A keen eye for commerce brings extra gold income, while their cavalry, navy, and Varangian Guards rank among the best in the business
The Epic Campaign of Harald Hardrada
The legend of Harald Hardrada brought to life in a sweeping 15-scenario, three-campaign epic spanning the medieval world. The DLC offers battles on the blood-soaked winter battlefields of Scandinavia, service as an elite Varangian in Constantinople, and a final stand in the ultimate Viking invasion of England in 1066.
The campaign is divided into three parts: The Exiled Prince, The Hard Ruler, and The Last Viking.
