The developers of the legendary strategy series presented a DLC for Age of Empires II Definitive Edition. Coming under the title The Last Chieftains, the expansion brings brand-new campaigns, three new civilization and units unique for them. This time the game addresses the medieval South America and the history of tribes.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is a classic strategy game. For the 25th anniversary, it received a graphics update, featuring 4K Ultra HD graphics. Moreover, the game received a remastered soundtrack, and three expansions included: Lords of the West, Dynasties of India, and Dawn of the Dukes. The game features over 200 hours of gameplay spanning 1,000 years of human history. Online multiplayer allows for competitive play across a variety of modes.

DLC Content Overview

Setting: Medieval South America.

3 New Civilizations:

  • Mapuche: Includes the Kona (melee cavalry with bonus vs. wounded) and Bolas Rider (ranged cavalry that slows enemies).
  • Muisca: Features the Guecha Warrior (javelineer that heals allies on death) and Temple Guard (heavy infantry with increasing attack speed).
  • Tupi: Utilizes the Blackwood Archer (ranged unit trained in pairs) and Ibirapema Warrior (heavy infantry with area damage).

Multiplayer: All three civilizations are designed for ranked play with standard tech trees, integrating into existing multiplayer modes.

3 New Campaigns: Stories follow a Mapuche warrior rebelion, a Muisca conflict over El Dorado, and a Tupi chieftain navigating European colonial rivalries. Campaigns include branching choices, allied tribes, and heroic units.
