Update 19.18309 has arrived for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. It is one of the most substantial patches released yet. The update promises to reshape the strategy, empire management and game experience. It brings new features, quality-of-life improvements, balance changes, and campaign fixes. Moreover, the developers released a new Baltic Powers DLC, expanding the game content for free.
Spectator Mode Reforged
- A new top panel delivers an exhaustive breakdown of team performance in both 1v1 and team games, with aggregate data on team populations, units and buildings defeated or lost, and side-by-side comparisons for total resources gathered.
- A new queue panel displays sent shipments for the currently viewed player.
- The player display now features colored player and team ID indicators, with current counts for military units, civilian units, and sent shipments.
- Switch between player views instantly with the Ctrl+F+(Player number) shortcut.
The Deck Manager
- Hotkeys: Create, save, delete, copy, and duplicate decks with simple key combinations. Tooltips now display the shortcuts.
- Revolutions Toggle: View the cards of Revolutions available to your selected civilization.
- Home City Data: Civilization name, flag, and Home City level and name now displayed at a glance.
- Technology Tree Button: Added directly to the Deck Manager.
Multiplayer
- Civilization Switch: Change civilizations directly in the quick match search dialog.
- Legacy Ranks Restored: Lance Corporal, Brigadier, and Major General return.
- Smarter Lobby Filter: Default region filter now set to All Regions.
- Quick Search Sound: Audio cue when a match is found.
- Reorganized Top Bar: Leaderboard, Friends, Chats, Clans, and Settings arranged by frequency of use.
Quality of Life
- Hitpoint Bars: Now displayed in player colors.
- Kill Counter: Verify the effectiveness of your cannons with individual kill tracking.
- Charged Actions: Toggle on or off per unit selection.
- Delete Building Command: Force allied AI to destroy highlighted buildings and claim Trading Posts for yourself.
- Team Resources: New lobby checkbox shares all player resources across the team.
- Train and Research Times: Tooltips now display exact completion times.
- Population and Garrison Space:Statistics panels show how much each building provides.
- Profile Icons:DLC-related icons now unlock automatically for owners.
- Scores:Resigned or defeated player names now struck out.
- Minimap: Reset orientation with a single button or hotkey.
- Photo Mode: Now accessible even after the game ends.
- Technology Tree: New sheets for Natives, Mercenaries, Outlaws, and Revolutions for every civilization.
- Postgame Statistics: Star icons highlight top performances, flags display civilization names.
- Map Selection: Search bar and letter-key navigation for faster browsing.
- Lobby: Remembers last used civilizations and teams for AI players.
- Menu: New Campaign sub-menu, Scenario Editor button, and reorganized Tools.
