Aloft Early Access Set To Soar Today

Harness the wind and survive as Aloft Early Access takes off.

Funcom and Astrolabe Interactive’s high flying survival sim, Aloft, is available today. Priced at €24.99 or local equivalent, this brand new feel good sandbox survival allows up to eight players to enter and explore the ecosystems of a shattered world. Restore the environment, build epic skyships, and navigate an expansive sky as this adorable looking adventure aims for the heady heights at the top your most played list.

For skyship captains and winged explorers who haven’t seen early glimpses of Aloft, it drops players into a feel-good game in the clouds. Clusters of floating islands hang up high, with everything you’ll need to survive, build, farm, and transform any island into your home above the clouds. Gather, chop, craft, and care for animals to make your own little piece of heaven a home away from home and then harness the wind to head out.

When you’re ready, make use of the ever present wind to use newly crafted sails, rudder, and helm. Build epic sky ships and head out with a crew and even directly share those creations on the Steam Workshop for others to enjoy. Venturing out isn’t all plain sailing however. A deadly rot creeps out across the horizon and players can push it back and unlock special loot. Find and cure infected islands from corruption by defeating the mushroom creatures in combat. Craft antidotes to save animals and restore islands to a state of harmony.

This inviting tale pulls on plenty of survival concepts and flies high like Echoes of Elysium. The team behind Aloft floated a range of updates yet to land. The Early Access Roadmap highlights the main features planned for future updates. Initial updates will focus on quickly addressing any potential bugs that appear with launch, after which the team will move on to expanding the game with quality-of-life improvements and new features. This flexible roadmap allows for adjustment of priorities based in large part on community feedback.

Check out the trailer for Aloft and pick up Aloft Early Access over on the Steam Store page.
