Game Freak has announced a new mobile game about magical girls Ame Nochi Hare Onna. Coming from the studio behind the Pokémon series, the project promises weather depending on gameplay and colorful world of magic. To show off the vibe of the game, developers presented a brand-new trailer, introducing main characters and the universe.
Set in modern-day Japan, the Ame Nochi Hare Onna follows magical girls called “Hare-onna” (Sunny Girls) who change the weather and help people all around Japan. However, they don’t face this task alone. All girls have little spirits partners called “Kumorin” who assist them every day.

- Real-World Weather Integration: The game pulls real-world forecasts into play, though how this feeds into missions, progression, or the day-to-day loop has yet to be shown.

Game Freak promises to share more details during the official “Hare Girls Meeting” livestream on September 14 at 7:00 PM JST. The first half will cover the game’s development history and concept, while the second half introduces its characters alongside voice actors Hiyori Kono and Yuki Nagano. Game Freak will also hold a special presentation at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Ame nochi Hare Onna launches this winter on iOS and Android.
