Monitor manufacturer AOC just announced a new 27-inch gaming display that won’t break the wallet but still manages to be a 280Hz budget monitor option.
Determined to leave your wallet laden with cash and enemies in the dust, the new 27G2ZN3/BK from AOC is already available on store shelves and online. This new addition to the monitor maker’s core gaming brand combines e-sport level performance across 27 inches of screen space, and only clocks in at £189.99 or local equivalent.
Despite coming in at under the 200 mark, this new gaming option manages a 123.3% sRGB area and 92.2% DCI-P3 color coverage and is backed by a Fast VA panel. Sure, it isn’t OLED, but the contrast should be great, and VA has come a long way since the days where it was decidedly second best. Aimed at gamers who care about performance, the 27G2ZN3/BK runs at 280Hz, and has a response time of 0.5 ms MPRT. Aside from low input lag and quick response times, this model also incorporates backlight strobing to significantly improving motion clarity when things get fast.
As you might expect, a low cost does come with compromises. A full HD resolution maxes out the monitor, while 300 nits and HDR10 compliance are included. These options won’t bother anybody with the need for speed, but epic RPG evangelists might want to consider other AOC options.
A distinctive 130 mm height-adjustable stand and chassis house the main display. 2x HDMI 2.0 ports and 1x DisplayPort 1.4 complete the connectivity, providing options across PC and console gaming. You can check out the full specifications of this new gaming monitor over on the official website now.
