Counterplay Games has announced that the roguelike ARPG Armatus Demo launches on 23 February at 10 am PST. Armatus is a third-person roguelike shooter that takes players to the Paris ruins. Taking the role of the last supernatural warrior of an ancient order, they have to purge the evil and find the gateway to heaven. The game offers an arsenal of powerful firearms and incredible celestial powers.
Key Game Features
- Combat Loop: Each run allows players to evolve their combat style with celestial abilities and passive enhancements. Death leads to revival and another attempt.
- Progression: Players start each run heavily armed and gain new powers over time, unlocking powerful combinations of weapons and celestial abilities. Arsenal includes shotguns, holy fire, and time manipulation.
- Environments: A decaying Paris transitions into increasingly demonic hellscapes as players progress through the game. Stronger and more grotesque enemies appear on each run.
- Core Mechanic: Fight, death, resurrection – each attempt brings the player closer to victory. Mastering weapons and abilities is key to overcoming challenges with increasing difficulty.
Armatus comes to PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
