Damage Point Digital has officially announced an ambitious VRMMORPG project Asteria: Fate of the Fallen. The game promises to step into a new generation of social interactions, bringing virtual interaction closer to reality. The developers aim to use all features a modern VR sets can offer, including eye and full body tracking. Asteria aims to deliver the immersive “full-dive” VRMMO experience often seen in anime and fiction.
Asteria: Fate of the Fallen is an anime-style VRMMORPG set in medieval fantasy world. The game is in development for PCVR and any PCVR hardware, including Steam Frame (and Quest systems when using a link cable or other wireless solution) (Standalone support will be worked on after PC launch). The players will be able to fight, traverse and explore. There everyone can make new friends,buy a house or starts their own shop. Moreover, the game will offer idle activities like mini-games and sports.

- Combat: Dynamic, physics-based fighting with intelligent enemies, physical weapon sheathing/mounting, and a rune-drawing magic system.
- Life Skills: Deep, isolated gameplay loops for blacksmithing, cooking, farming, fishing, mining, alchemy, crafting, and more.
- Social and World: Large player densities (tested with 112+ VR players simultaneously with low lag), player-owned homes and shops, collaborative gameplay, and a central player city called Selara.

- Narrative: Player-centric experience, where everyone collectively defend, rebuild, and shape the world rather than following a single-hero story.
- Tech: Uses SpaceTimeDB for efficient, low-cost multiplayer scaling. Graphics aim for high fidelity.
The developers started a Kickstarter campaign, presenting asteria is a passion project, but they don’t try to hide the possible issues the development can face. However, the project already managed to reach the first minimal goal, and the players keep supporting this dream like VRMMO.
