Developer Obsidian is back with news regarding the future of aRPG Avowed: not only did the team share v1.4 Patch Notes, but the Roadmap for 2025 as well! The roadmap outlines the new and released features that are enhancing the game over Spring, Summer & Fall 2025. Let’s check them out.
Avowed Patch 1.4, now live, introduced the first batch of major improvements to the game. These include the arachnophobia safe mode that turns all spiders in the game into friendlier-looking spheres wielding swords; the update also added mouse and keyboard support for Xbox, Fog of War improvements, more gold and crafting materials, Soul Pods being able to dispell illusions, and more!
Avowed – V1.4 Improvements Include:
- Once a player has explored nearly all of the accessible areas on a map, the fog of war for the entire map will automatically clear.
- Critters can now be killed and have a chance to drop loot.
- Players can now wait to pass time (day/night cycle) while in the Party Camp.
- Added a settings option to display chests on the minimap.
- Added a setting option to allow canceling power attacks with the Bow and Arquebus.

The next major update, coming in Summer 2025, will introduce further cooking and crafting improvements, new NPC abilities and behaviors, new active and passive abilities and more. Players will also be able to create custom map markers. In Fall 2025, Avowed will receive New Game Plus and photo mode features, new weapon type, the ability to change appearance in the world, new character presents and more Godlike features.
