Developer Larian Studios is back with a new community update for turn-based cRPG Baldur’s Gate 3. Having outlined an incredible journey of the game since its release, including a plethora of awards it received, the devs focused on the future.
The team is hard at work on the next major update, Patch 7, that will introduce improved evil endings. If the conclusions to this story didn’t seem dark enough for you, you’re quite in luck! That goes for non-Durge players as well. Up above you can listen to a new track from the game’s fabulous composer, Borislav Slavov.
Patch 7 also aims to fix several bugs, including aheira’s unwillingness to follow the group and jump into combat, Wyll’s less-than-romantic greetings, as well as the mysteriously disappearing Narrator lines from the Gortash and Dark Urge confrontation. That is also when BG3 will start receiving the official modding tools!
Beyond Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7, Larian plans to focus on bug fixes, performance enhancements, and stability. Additionally, the team is actively working on Crossplay and Photo Mode, but there is no ETA yet.
“You folks were the first to have faith in us, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Every comment, livestream, meme, and piece of art you created throughout Baldur’s Gate 3’s development let us know we were on to something special long before any of this. Awards are of course appreciated, but it’s this community that has been the true source of our resilience while we were making this game. Whether you’ve been active since the halcyon days of the Astarion body pillow or are a long-time veteran of Early Access; whether you’ve participated in our Panel From Hell livestreams or discovered the game after launch, thank you for supporting Baldur’s Gate 3 and helping to nurture this community of wonderful weirdos. It’s meant the world to us.”
