Bandai Namco used Anime Expo weekend to announce action brawler Bleach Rebirth of Souls.
Awaken the Blade and get ready to face the Hollows again. Bandai just announced Bleach Rebirth of Souls, and it’s looking like fans of the iconic anime are finally getting a kick-ass addition to the franchise. Announced over the weekend and coming to PC and console, the latest Bleach game is not a mobile spin-off or a visual novel. Instead, it’s a blisteringly paced, Zanpakuto-wielding brawler that harks back to the age of the big three.
After the recent release of Thousand Year Blood War Arc on TV and streaming services, it’s no surprise that fans of the hit Shonen turned anime are getting a new video game. The upcoming title is in development over at Tamsoft Corporation and will bring Tite Kubo’s brand of sword-wielding Death God to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series systems sometime soon. While we don’t have a release date, the announcement info does confirm that this is an arena brawler, letting players take control of their favorite characters from the series. We know Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, Yasutora Sado are all confirmed. Using incredible powers, these familiar faces can unleash ever more impressive power as the situation turns against them, sounding like a comeback mechanic might unleash a Bankai.
A teaser trailer gives us a very brief glimpse at Bleach Rebirth of Souls, which should hopefully include more sword swinging than Jump Force. Potential recruits for the Gotei 13 should report to the official website for more, now.
