Developer HoYoverse had been on hand during the latest dev stream Behind the Scenes of Genshin Impact “To Snezhnaya and the Future”. In it, the team discussed how players welcomed Nod-Krai and shared their philosophies regarding gameplay, story and their interactions going forward.
Additionally, the team mentioned their inspirations and thoughts regarding Snezhnaya as the nation – the home of the Fatui and the ancient race of the Fae like Flins and Linnea. There were also a few concept arts and animations shown, including the snowy lands we are to visit, the trains that serve as more than just transport, and the potential Traveler outfits’ concept arts.
The developers also spoke about Elemental reactions, hinting at more to come, and at something only a Descender can do, exploration-wise, that might be even more surprising than the underwater adventures in Fontaine.
Many players feel like they are going to witness a conclusion to Genshin Impact in Snezhnaya. But the developers feel that the word “conclusion” carries a sense of melancholy, represending a player’s recognition and connection to everything that HoYoverse have created so far. And yet, it also feels like it seals away all future possibilities. The team reassures that they will neither rush toward a forced or inexplicable ending to the story, nor extend ir purely for commercial reasons.
