GoldenEye 007 is one of the most beloved of all video games and has been since its debut in 1997. Now over 25 years since its original release, Rare fans will be thrilled to hear that it’s making its way to Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch. Players will be thrilled that it will feature its amazing stealth shooter gameplay action alongside new features for a new era in gaming.
The game puts players into the stunning tux of none other than Bond, James Bond. He’s on a global espionage mission to stop the GoldenEye satellite from being unleashed on the world. Players will find the classic campaign mode as well as transformative difficulty levels and “havoc-inducing cheats”. All of the things people loved about the original are coming back. In addition, split-screen multiplayer mode will allow up to four players to take it to the couch in a battle of wits and skill.
What’s new in the updated version of GoldenEye 007?
In a nod to modern computers, however, players will find updated and improved control options as well as other modern features. These include native 16:9 resolution up to 4K ultra HD. Add in a full complement of achievements to unlock and it’s easy to see how exciting this news is.
The game will be available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S as part of Xbox Game Pass. Players who own a copy of Rare Replay will be able to download the game and enjoy it free of charge.
