Arc Games, Asmodee, and Celphalofair announce a digital adaptation of the acclaimed board game Frosthaven.
RPG fans, you have a whole new world to explore soon. Frosthaven might be a new name to man y of use, but the best-selling board game is about to unleash a new adventure on us all. Last night’s Future Games Show served as the stage for this exciting announcement, preparing to bring players into a is a dark fantasy tactical RPG that takes the spirit of Gloomhaven and ads a formidable northern challenge to the mix.
As a spiritual successor to the Gloomhaven board game and 2021 video game, Frosthaven already roll for expectation, but the team bringing this to screen have plenty of promise. Plenty of players will already know the Arc name, the publisher behind Star Trek, Hyper Light: Breaker, and Dungeons & Dragons. Asmodee are responsible for getting the likes of CATAN, Ticket to Ride, Dobble/Spot it! Exploding Kittens, and more tour tables, while Cephalofair Games was founded by Isaac Childres. With X-COM Creator Julian Gollop involved, there’s no reason this can’t be as successful as the physical edition.
For players who haven’t rolled these dice yet, Frosthaven will land in Early Access, allowing players to pick from a range or starting classes and taking on a brutal frostbitten world. Take the Banner Spear, Boneshaper, Drifter, Geminate, Blinkblade, and Deathwalker out into a stunning detailed environment where danger lurks around every corner. Engage in deep, tactical turn-based combat, testing your skills against an array of new enemies and formidable bosses. Make use of a card-based system to unleash devastation on your enemies and ensure that you and up 4 players can make it through a wealth of quests.
The Early Access launch will drop with 35+ quests across Acts 1 and 2, and more than 130 total quests planned for the campaign as development continues. Before that happens, closed Beta Testing for Frosthaven will kick off on Thursday, March 27 at 5pm CET until Thursday, April 24 at 6pm CEST.
