Borderlands 4 is finally here, and players are already praying and slaying to get the best loot for their Vault Hunters. Just like previous games, Gearbox is already tossing out free goodies in the form of Shift codes. Gearbox released several SHiFT codes for Borderlands 4 over the weekend, and they’ll net you a handful of Golden Keys to kick off the loot chase. Some of the codes have expiration dates, so use them ASAP!

As always, Golden Keys unlock the coveted Golden Chest, which spits out a grab bag of high-rarity weapons, gear, and cosmetics. If history is any indication, don’t expect every drop to be god-tier, but even early-game purple loot is better than whatever random gun you yanked off a bandit two minutes ago.
To redeem these codes, head over to the official SHiFT site or do it in-game by clicking on the Rewards tab in the main or pause menu. Codes are usually time-limited, so it’s best to snag them before they disappear into the vault forever.
Bonus Freebies
Along with watching out for Shift codes on the official Gearbox X and Facebook accounts, you’ll also want to be on the lookout for other free loot giveaways. You can pick up the “Hazard Pay” weapon skin by signing up to receive news and promo messages on your Shift profile page. Gearbox is also running a Borderlands 4 Twitch Drop through September 30th, where you can earn two sweet weapons just by watching participating channels.
These are just the opening shots of what will no doubt be a steady stream of SHiFT codes as Borderlands 4 ramps up. If Gearbox sticks to tradition, we’ll see plenty more freebies rolling out around events, DLC launches, and Randy Pitchford’s Twitter whims.
