Last week Brandon Sanderson shocked the Internet by announcing four secret novels he had written in two years and announcing the corresponding Kickstarter campaign that so far had gathered over $25 million and still has 23 days to go.
Now the author released a new video for his Youtube channel titled “I Am Flabbergasted”. The video in question offers watchers a breakdown of the previous week and the writer’s thoughts on leading the №1 Kickstarter of all time. You can check it out above.
For those out of the loop, last week Brandon Sanderson addressed his writing schedule and the effect frequent traveling had on it. Additionally, he mentioned what the pandemic meant for his writing – and revealed four secret novels.
“It was strange to realize, at the start of the pandemic, just how much I was relieved by not being forced to travel–and how much I’d started to dread certain aspects of my job. By luck, I was able to have the time to take the steps I needed in order to prevent burnout. Yes, I’m a little strange in that the thing that most helps me most in such situations is writing something completely different, something unexpected. It probably seems incongruous that I avoid burnout by doing more work–but I truly love telling stories. So, here we are!”
