Out of the Blue Games has announced the release day for the upcoming puzzle Call of the Elder Gods. The announcement came along with the brand-new trailer, featuring gameplay elements and a glimpse at the main narrative line. The Lovecraftian adventure starts on 12 May 2026 on PC (Steam), Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X. Moreover, the game joins Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Call of the Elder Gods follows Professor Harry Everhart and student Evangeline Drayton at Miskatonic University. They investigate supernatural occurrences and an artifact uncovered a decade ago. The players have to trvel through time and space, visiting different realms and solving puzzles.
Key Game Features
- Puzzles: Object and observation-based puzzles with new depth. Players swap between Harry and Evangeline to solve multi-part problems across time and space. Difficulty options include toggle-able hints, icons, and journal entries.
- Environments: Locations range from a New England mansion and Australian outback to frozen wastelands and otherworldly cities. Rendered in Unreal Engine 5.
- Soundtrack: Composed by returning composer Eduardo De La Iglesia.
- Story: Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Shadow Out of Time.” A fully voice-acted narrative about grief, family, and sanity. Voice cast includes Yuri Lowenthal and Cissy Jones.
