Chaosium Inc., the world’s longest-running publisher of tabletop roleplaying games, just launched the BackerKit campaign for an all-new original title Time Without Tide. With 22 days still left, 895 backers (at the time of writing) have pledged almost $120k – 12 times the initial funding sought by the company!
Created by Call of Cthulhu and RuneQuest writers David Naylor and James Coquillat, Time Without Tide introduces an entirely new game system and sends players into a strange, fog-shrouded world where exploration can uncover wonders, horrors, or something much harder to explain. You are a Delver in the setting of faux-Victorian apocalypse. Hold your lantern high and venture into the unknown.
The game features a highly customizable character system that gives players plenty of ways to build their Delver: items, vehicles, companions, features, adaptations and more can change the way characters play. It is up to you to leave the safety of fortified walls and venture into the World of Fog. Use diplomacy, creativity and character-driven roleplaying to navigate its myseries… or turn to tactical combat when it proves to be not enough.
“Time Without Tide gives us the chance to explore a completely new world and a new way to play,” said Chaosium Vice President Michael O’Brien. “We wanted the World of Fog to feel dangerous, strange, and full of possibilities. Players can negotiate, improvise, fight, and shape their Delvers in wonderfully unexpected ways. We can’t wait to see what they create.”
