Chasing Static Comes Creeping Onto Consoles in Q1 2023

Headware Games and publisher Ratalaika Games S.L have announced that Chasing Static is set to creep out the locals when it launches in Q1 2023.

Anybody looking for a brand new year of horror can expect plenty of low poly scares and creepy forests when Chasing Static abandons players in the Welsh woods and unleashes a family tree of horror next year. Unfurling something of an unnatural family mystery, Chasing Status will scare up Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Thursday, 12 January 2023.

Alongside a release date, potential players can also find a trailer to give them a glimpse of what’s waiting out in the wonderful British weather. The teaser gives us all a look ahead to the unorthodox adventure, the trailer finds prodigal son Chris Selwood, returning to attend the funeral of his late father. Unfortunately, after pulling over for a welcome break and a hot coffee the local diner’s waitress, Aneira, is pinned to the ceiling by an unknown terror.

Sounding like a terrifying take on the opening of Twin Mirror, Chris turns to his father’s notes and finds out that he is far from alone. Terrifying horrors and monsters now stalk his surroundings. The only way to survive and unravel the puzzle surrounding these events is by using a Frequency Displacement Monitoring Device, a tool capable of deciphering sounds and the conversations of spirits long departed. In between Chris must tour dark forests, abandoned buildings, and backdrops that would not be my first choice for a tourist trip to Wales. If you’re ready to jump in already, then Chasing Static is available on PC now and will frighten console players soon. Check out more on the official Steam Store page now.
