Chisa Joins Wuthering Waves: The Blade-Bearing Force You Can’t Miss

Chisa Joins Wuthering Waves: The Blade-Bearing Force You Can’t Miss

Wuthering Waves continues to captivate players with its stunning visuals and compelling characters, and the upcoming Version 2.8 update promises to deliver one of the most exciting additions yet. Meet Chisa, a brilliant and enigmatic student from Startorch Academy who’s about to shake up the game’s meta with her unique playstyle and versatile combat abilities.

Who is Chisa?

Chisa is characterized as a conscientious, level-headed student from Startorch Academy who believes everything can be broken down, analyzed, and resolved—except for the complexities of human bonding. She was officially revealed as a Havoc Resonator utilizing the Broadblade weapon type during Version 2.7 on October 17, 2025.

What immediately catches the eye is her distinctive appearance. Chisa embodies a classic anime-style schoolgirl design with long black hair, striking crimson eyes, a traditional black JK uniform, and sleek black leg garters, making her Wuthering Waves’ first JK-inspired character. However, don’t let her studious appearance fool you—this character packs serious combat potential.

Her weapon is unlike anything we’ve seen before in Wuthering Waves. She wields a large scissor-like weapon classified as a Broadblade, which transforms between different forms during combat. According to the official announcement, she analyzes the structure of observed targets, identifies their weak threads, and severs them with sharp cuts from the scissors in her hands, unravelling their structural integrity. This analytical approach to combat perfectly matches her academic background and methodical personality.

When Can You Get Chisa?

Version 2.8 of Wuthering Waves is scheduled to release on November 20, 2025, with Chisa expected to feature as the 5-star Resonator in the first phase banner. The first banner will feature Chisa together with a rerun of Phoebe, giving players the opportunity to obtain two powerful characters during the same phase.

For those planning to add Chisa to their roster, now’s the perfect time to start saving your Astrites and gathering the necessary materials. The anticipation surrounding her release has been building for months, ever since she was teased during earlier livestreams alongside other upcoming characters.

Understanding Chisa’s Combat Abilities

What makes Chisa truly special is her hybrid role as both a damage dealer and team supporter. She’s expected to function as a support healer who’s also capable of dealing substantial Resonance Liberation damage while applying the Havoc Bane negative status on enemies.

Her combat system revolves around two distinct modes. In her standard form, she uses precise scissor strikes to analyze and mark enemies. When her Forte Gauge becomes full, her Resonance Skill transforms into Serrated Loop, dealing damage and pulling in targets affected by Unseen Snare while sending Chisa into Chainsaw Mode. This mode completely changes her attack patterns, replacing her elegant scissor strikes with aggressive chainsaw assaults that deal significantly increased damage.

Her Resonance Liberation ability deals Havoc damage and recovers HP for all nearby Resonators in the team, sending Chisa into an enhanced state called Woven Myriad – Convergence for 15 seconds. This dual functionality of dealing damage while providing healing makes her incredibly valuable in challenging content where survivability is crucial.

One of her most powerful mechanics is the Havoc Bane debuff system. When Chisa marks enemies and her teammates attack these marked targets, she applies stacks of Havoc Bane that reduce enemy defenses. Her Forte Circuit grants her Thread of Bane, which allows the Resonator to ignore portions of the target’s defense based on the number of Havoc Bane stacks. This defense-shredding capability significantly amplifies the damage output of her entire team.

When it comes to optimizing Chisa’s performance, understanding Chisa best builds and teams is essential for maximizing her potential. Her signature weapon, Thread of Fate, is designed specifically to complement her kit. Thread of Fate increases ATK by 12% and boosts Resonance Liberation damage by 8% when using Intro Skill or applying Negative Status, stacking up to three times. At maximum stacks, it provides a substantial team-wide damage bonus, making it an excellent choice for both her personal damage and team support capabilities.

For Echo sets, the new Thread of Severed Fate introduced in Version 2.8 stands out as her optimal choice, providing both ATK and Resonance Liberation damage bonuses that synergize perfectly with her abilities. Players should focus on building her with CRIT Rate, CRIT Damage, and ATK as main stats to maximize her damage potential while maintaining her supportive capabilities.

Regarding team compositions for Chisa best builds and teams, she demonstrates remarkable versatility. Chisa fits perfectly into Cartethyia’s Aero-Erosion teams, providing substantial defense shred and damage buffs while increasing the maximum stack limit of Aero Erosion. This addresses a critical limitation for Cartethyia before obtaining higher sequence nodes and strengthens the team significantly in challenging endgame content.
