Developer Sandfall Interactive took to BlueSky to reveal exciting news: in thirty-three days since its release, turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sold 3.3 million copies.
Every year, the world of Clair Obscur witnesses a beautiful but heartbreaking phenomenon. The Paintress wakes up and paints a cursed number upon her monolith, clearly seen in the distance. And everyone of that age turns to smoke and petals and fades away. Year by year, that number ticks down and more people are erased. Tomorrow she’ll wake again and paint “33.” You join Expedition 33 on their final mission: Destroy the Paintress, so she can never paint death again.
Since its release in late April, the game won over the hearts of players, receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam, with reviewers praising its story, gameplay, combat, music, art-style – you name it, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 nailed it. In fact, many players have called it their personal GOTY (Game of the Year)!
