Code Geass Returns with Hoshi Oi no Aspar

Code Geass is about to turn twenty! That’s right, the first season of the original TV series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, launched in 2006. Since then, the franchise was expanded with another full-scale TV season, OVAs, movies, games, mangas, and more. Viewers have fallen in love with the universe, be it the action-driven battles in giant mecha, the mystical Geass power, or the memorable characters like Lelouch or C.C.

Following Lelouch of the Rebellion (who later became Lelouch of the Resurrection), Akito the Exiled and Rozé of the Recapture, the franchise is in for a brand-new project. Code Geass: Hoshi Oi no Aspar (roughly, Star Chaser Aspar) had been announced for the 20th anniversary of the series during the event in Tokyo.

At the moment, there aren’t any details about the setting or the events, but fans can look forward to the aforementioned mecha fights and intense Geass action.

The upcoming anime will be directed by Kazuya Nomura (Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie, Moriarty the Patriot), Mado Nozaki is in charge of the script (Hello World light novel), while Rolua (Yūsha Party kara Tsuihō Saretakedo) is in charge of the character design.

If you were looking for more Code Geass content, you can’t do wrong with Aspar! I don’t know about you, but I’m off to rewatch the series after the announcement.
