Corsair is giving one of its most builder-friendly cases a flashy new twist. The Corsair FRAME 4000D is back in a limited-edition Vault Series release, swapping its understated exterior for a color-shifting finish and exclusive badging aimed squarely at showcase builds. The new edition keeps the modular foundation of the FRAME 4000D intact but introduces a chromatic paint finish that shifts color depending on lighting and viewing angle. It is the kind of effect designed for RGB-heavy battlestations and glass-panel display rigs rather than hiding under a desk.
Two new finishes are available: Galaxy and Nova, both emphasizing the shifting, almost iridescent quality of the Vault Series paint treatment. Each case also includes an aluminum badge with limited-edition etching, and Corsair is only producing 1,337 units of each colorway. That low production number leans hard into enthusiast appeal, especially for builders who like their rigs to feel one-of-a-kind.
Under the new skin, the hardware remains serious. The Corsair FRAME 4000D features a full tempered glass side panel and compact PSU shroud for a clean interior presentation. Up front, the modern I/O panel includes three USB Type-C ports, which is more generous than what many mid-towers currently offer.
Cooling support remains one of the case’s biggest strengths. Corsair’s InfiniRail fan mounting system allows for easier fan alignment and installation flexibility. Builders can install dual 360mm radiators, making it viable for high-end CPUs and GPUs that demand aggressive thermal solutions. A built-in GPU anti-sag stabilization arm is also included, a welcome addition given the size and weight of modern graphics cards.
The case is compatible with reverse-connector motherboard designs, including ASUS BTF, MSI PROJECT ZERO, and GIGABYTE PROJECT STEALTH ecosystems, making it a strong choice for cable-hidden builds that emphasize a clean, uninterrupted interior layout.
Functionally, this is still the modular mid-tower many PC builders already know. Aesthetically, however, the limited-edition Vault Series version transforms it into something meant to be shown off. With only 1,337 units per color, it is clearly aimed at collectors and enthusiasts who want their case to be more than just a box that holds parts.
