Crimson Desert Release Postponed

Crimson Desert Release Postponed

Pearl Abyss announced that the ambitious open-world RPG Crimson Desert release won’t happen this year as planned. The delay caused not by the development problems, but by the distribution difficulties. The developers made this hard decision to secure the game success.

The team needs time to coordinate the processes of offline distribution and certification for consoles. Crimson Desert release is moved to the Q1 2026. The more accurate date will be announced later and certainly not at Gamescom, thus we have to wait and hope it won’t be postponed again.

“We sincerely apologize for not being able to meet the originally promised fourth quarter launch schedule. Please kindly understand that this is a strategic decision aimed at ensuring success on a meaningful scale. Due to the delay, Pearl Abyss is looking to announce a concrete date at a “more appropriate time based on business considerations, rather than making an announcement at Gamescom next week.

It’s currently working on voice-overs and console certification for the action RPG ahead of launch, which could suggest a release in the opening months of next year. Pearl Abyss currently plans to showcase the open world this month at Gamescom and PAX West, alongside attending Tokyo Game Show next month to “strengthen our marketing efforts in the Japanese market.” – Pearl Abyss.

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the stunning yet unforgiving land of Pywel. Embark on daring quests, uncover hidden marvels, and engage in heart-pounding combat as you follow the gripping tale of Kliff, the leader of the Greymanes. His epic mission will take you on an unforgettable journey filled with danger, discovery, and destiny.

The game will be released at consoles (Xbox Series X/S, PS5) and PC.
