CRKD ATOM+ Shrinks the Controller Down to Keychain Size, Somehow Still Keeps the Thumbsticks

CRKD is back with another piece of hardware that feels like it shouldn’t exist, at least not in a practical sense. The newly announced ATOM+ is a follow-up to the company’s already tiny ATOM controller, and this time the pitch is simple. Take a full controller layout, shrink it down to something you can clip onto your keys, and still make it usable.

The ATOM+ manages to pack in dual thumbsticks, which is where things start to get interesting. Not only are they here, they’re powered by TMR technology, the same Tunnelling Magnetoresistance sensors CRKD is pushing in its higher-end controllers. The promise is zero stick drift and better precision than traditional analog sticks or even Hall Effect setups. Whether that holds up at this size will be the real test.

Beyond the sticks, the ATOM+ includes a full control layout. You’re getting action buttons, shoulder buttons, digital triggers, toggle controls, and even motion support. It connects over Bluetooth and works across a wide range of platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, PC, mobile devices, and smart TVs. In other words, it’s not just a novelty. It’s meant to actually replace your controller in a pinch.

There’s also a rechargeable battery via USB-C, rumble support, and turbo functionality for repeated inputs. CRKD is leaning hard into customization as well, with full remapping and settings control available through its companion app. Like the company’s other products, the ATOM+ ties into its “True Collection System,” giving each unit a unique number and rarity ranking. Collectors will care. Everyone else will probably just be happy it works.

Portability is key here. The ATOM+ is small enough to live on a keychain or hang off a backpack, with a wrist strap included for when you actually want to use it without launching it across the room. It’s the kind of device that makes more sense the second time you need it, not the first.

Priced at $29.99 and expected to ship in late June 2026, the ATOM+ sits in an odd but interesting space. It’s cheaper than most full controllers, more functional than it has any right to be, and just strange enough to stand out.
