CRKD Nitro Deck 2 Now Available For Pre-Order

CRKD has officially announced the Nitro Deck 2, the long-awaited successor to its breakout Nitro Deck accessory, with pre-orders now live and shipping expected to begin in Spring 2026. The reveal took place during a special presentation on IGN’s post-show for The Game Awards 2025, positioning Nitro Deck 2 as a headline accessory for Nintendo Switch 2 owners heading into the new year.

Designed to elevate handheld play on Nintendo Switch 2, the CRKD Nitro Deck 2 builds on the foundation of the original, with a focus on comfort, durability, and precision. CRKD says the new model delivers improved ergonomics, expanded customization options, and a major technological leap with its all-new CaptiStick thumbstick system. Unlike traditional Hall Effect sticks, CaptiStick technology uses a capacitor-based, zero-contact design that eliminates stick drift and avoids magnetic interference, while allowing players to adjust stick resistance to match their preferred feel.

One of the most notable design changes is how the console is secured. Instead of sliding the tablet into the shell, Nitro Deck 2 introduces a retractable locking mechanism on the rear of the device, allowing players to set the console in place and tighten it securely with a dial. The approach is designed to reduce wear on the hardware while ensuring a firm, protective fit. A legacy adapter is included for compatibility with the original Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED, making Nitro Deck 2 a cross-generation solution.

Ergonomics have also been refined, including a newly offset right thumbstick for a more natural hand position and a reworked outer shell with sculpted contours. CRKD has expanded customization with programmable back buttons, new L2 and R2 secondary shoulder buttons, upgraded digital triggers, and a swappable D-Pad system with multiple styles. Stick tops remain interchangeable and compatible with existing CRKD accessories.

Beyond handheld play, Nitro Deck 2 doubles as a standalone controller. Integrated Bluetooth support enables connection to PCs, mobile devices, and smart TVs, while the included wired adapter supports low-latency play. When the console isn’t inserted, a removable centrepiece lets Nitro Deck 2 function as a dedicated pro-style controller, adding flexibility for docked or multi-platform setups.

Like other CRKD products, Nitro Deck 2 ties into the True Collection System and the CRKD CTRL app, where users can register their hardware, check rarity rankings, remap controls, tune rumble, calibrate sticks, and manage firmware updates.

The CRKD Nitro Deck 2 will launch in White and Smoke Black, both featuring metallic CRKD thumbstick bases. Pricing is set at $99.99 USD, with a hardshell carry case priced at $39.99 and additional D-Pad and stick top packs arriving in Spring 2026. With its combination of drift-free controls, expanded customization, and cross-platform flexibility, Nitro Deck 2 is shaping up to be a major accessory release for Switch 2 players looking to take handheld gaming to the next level. Pre-orders are available now via CRKD’s official site.
