CRKD is taking another swing at the controller market, and this one feels a bit more ambitious than its usual collectible-focused hardware. The newly announced ULT PRO is being positioned as a next-gen wireless controller built for competitive play, but with a price tag that doesn’t usually come attached to that kind of pitch. At $69.99, it’s stepping into a crowded space that includes some very established names. CRKD’s angle is simple enough. Pack in as many high-end features as possible and hope players notice.
The ULT PRO features TMR thumbsticks, short for Tunnelling Magnetoresistance. If that sounds like something pulled out of a lab, that’s because it basically is. The promise here is zero stick drift, along with higher precision than both traditional analog sticks and even Hall Effect sensors, which have already become the go-to solution for players tired of replacing worn-out controllers.
Beyond that, the ULT PRO leans heavily into customization. There are six extra remappable inputs, including four back buttons and two additional shoulder-zone buttons, along with adjustable trigger travel that lets you swap between short, clicky inputs and longer, smoother pulls. Each trigger can be tuned independently, which is the kind of detail competitive players tend to obsess over.
Connectivity is equally flexible. The controller supports 2.4GHz wireless through a dongle, Bluetooth for broader device compatibility, and USB-C wired play. When plugged in on PC, it can hit a 1000Hz polling rate, which puts it firmly in esports territory when it comes to responsiveness. Platform support is also broad, covering Nintendo Switch, PC, mobile devices, tablets, and even smart TVs. A physical platform slider lets you swap between devices without digging through menus, which is one of those small quality-of-life features that ends up mattering more than expected.
CRKD is also bundling a charging dock that doubles as a display stand, offering both a rechargeable battery and the option to fall back on standard AA batteries. It’s a surprisingly practical touch in a controller that otherwise leans heavily into enthusiast territory.
The ULT PRO will be available in three versions at launch, including Switch and PC layouts in Smoke Black, plus a Pal Grey option for Switch players. It’s set to begin shipping in late June 2026.
