The Crusader Kings III game director, Alexander Oltner, shared his reflections on the journey the game and the team have undertaken over the past half-decade. He expressed special gratitude to the community, whose support made the game’s success possible:
“Five years can go by so quickly.
In many ways, 2020 feels like a different world from the one we are in now, but it’s still so close.
Working on Crusader Kings III is a dream job. There is a lot of passion for this project on the team, and it’s very fulfilling to see that passion reflected back to us through five years of enthusiastic play and discussion. We think Crusader Kings III is an original game design that attracts unique people – folks who want to bring a bit of drama to their map games and perhaps even like to explore different personality types. It helps to love history, but Crusader Kings and its community are much more than that.
Thank you, Crusader Kings III community, for everything you have done to support and promote our game. There are more of you than we ever anticipated, and though we may never meet, we hope that you can find a little of yourself in this beautiful thing we have made together.”
The game continues its journey on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, promising the players new stories and updates in the near future.
